GirlEng promotes a vibrant, inspiring and ever developing environment. We celebrate change, but at the same time, we hold on to our core principles. Most importantly we’d like to motivate and inspire young female learners.

The GirlEng Limpopo team attended the teachers’ seminar that was held at Flora Park High School on Saturday the 16th February 2013, looking specifically at the performance of science and mathematics at high schools. With the results obtained, it was proven that Limpopo has the best overall quality of Mathematics and Science, as compared to other provinces.

Apart from the Dinaledi Project, the government is aiming at:

  • Increasing the number of female students taking maths and science,
  • Increasing the performance of teachers and learners at under privileged schools,
  • Improving content of knowledge, and
  • Improving the quantity of the learners’ performance

This was of interest to us because our focus is also to improve female students’ performance and motivate learners. It is a relief that GirlEng is on the right track of making positive changes to our society.

From grateful hearts, we thank 2 members of the GirlEng executive team (Mamoloko Mosomane and Ntebogeng Maisela) for the outstanding presentation addressing educators about the work we do. We hope they will take interest in sharing our GirlEng moments as much as we enjoyed putting it together for them. Lastly we would like to thank Mr Phineous Sambo (from the Department of Education) and the educators for giving us this opportunity. We know that together we will make an outstanding impact on Limpopo female high school girls.
